Which of my belongings will the movers transport?

Moving Tips from  Van With a Man’s movers will move all furniture and boxed items listed on your estimate. All boxes must be taped and secured.  Movers  won’t take any loose items that aren’t packed up properly. Feel free to ask any of the staff on site any moving questions you may have to help move things along in a timely order..

Are there any restricted items the movers won’t transport?

The following list contains items that Van With a Man’s movers, whether due to federal law or our internal policy, will not transport:

  • Hazardous materials such as explosives, compressed gases, flammable liquids and solids, oxidizers, poisons, corrosives and radioactive materials.
  • Common examples of these include nail polish removers, paints and paint thinners, lighter fluid, gasoline, fireworks, oxygen bottles, propane cylinders, automotive chemicals, pharmaceuticals and matches.
  • Firearms
  • Perishable foods and foods in glass jars
  • Prescription drugs needed for immediate use
  • Live animals

Additionally, we recommend you transport valuable and sentimental items separately. This includes cash, coin collections, family photos, important personal documents like deeds or wills, financial papers like bonds, stocks and certificates, jewelry and moving documents.

Will you move my electronics?

Yes, Van With a Man is qualified to wrap, pack and transport electronics and appliances of all kinds, including:

  • Computers and televisions
  • Washers and dryers
  • Refrigerators
  • Hot tubs
  • Exercise equiptment
  • Computer
  • Copy Machines
  • Any Electriclal Device has no incurance gaurantee to turn on before durimg or after the moving process!

Our standard insurance policies apply to these items.

What happens if an item is lost or damaged?

Rest assured, Van With a Man is fully insured. Our services come with free cargo insurance against loss or damage, covering up to $.60 per pound per item on Long Distance Moving and up to $1. dollar per pound per aticle in the state of New Jersey on Local Moves . Higher levels of insurance protection are available at additional cost. All insurance options require a deductible.

What should I know about my pressed wood/pressboard furniture?

Pressboard, also known as pressed wood or particle board, is a common material used in household furniture. Unfortunately, its economical pricing comes at the cost of durability. Van With a Man’s movers will do their absolute best to make sure your pressboard furniture arrives intact, but these pieces are sometimes damaged during transport.

I have a glass or marble table. How will it be moved?

Due to their fragility, glass tabletops and marble slabs should be wood crated. Certain smaller pieces of glass or marble can be wrapped in standard moving blankets or cardboard.

I was quoted a flat rate LONG DISTANCE MOVE. Will that rate change come moving day?

When Van With a Man writes you an estimate, we do our best to include all the factors affecting the quoted rate.  Our trained estimator will ask you all the basic moving questions to help determine your rates.  That said, our flat rates are based on a predetermined block of time and moving truck volume. Exceeding one or both parameters could affect the final cost of the move.

Additional factors that could affect the cost of your move in the NJ area:

  • Our movers having to box up loose or unpacked items
  • Unexpectedly long walks
  • Unexpected stairs or elevators.

Do you only move people to Florida?

I am moving out of state. How long until my things arrive?

Van With a Man offers expedited moving services for all of relocations outside of New Jersey. Depending on the size of your shipment, we can quote you an accelerated delivery date. The total distance traveled and unexpected factors such as severe weather will play a role in the arrival time of your belongings.
