  DEALING WITH BAD CUSTOMERS

  When dealing with Bad Customers in the Moving & Storage business can take scammers to a whole new level. Van With a Man is a Small Family run business based in Freehold Nj. The main focus is customer service and making sure all the clients are satisfied. Occasionally We encounter “THE 1” you know the one that is never happy. The one that ignores your contracts and tries to take advantage of you. There is always that one customer who tries to pull a fast one.

SCAM MOVING CUSTOMERS NJ

   Recently we had a horrific experience with a customer his name is JP Hanley.  Our company gave him a fair and reasonable moving quote based on his volume. The moving contracts clearly state the limits of his measurements to be loaded and what he will be charged for. Upon the original estimate we added 25% extra volume as free space for JP Hanley because he stated he was not fully packed. This should cover an additional 20-30 medium to large boxes that needed to be packed. JP Hanley agreed this was a fair deal and agreed and signed the contact. This moving estimate was based on 400 cubic feet of space a moving truck. We loaded 615 cubic feet on the truck. That is an extra 215 cubic feet of space.

HOW MUCH SHOULD JP HANLEY PAY EXTRA?

     When JP was given the estimate based his volume it clearly stated that extra volume will be billed at $5 per cubic foot. That was his rate for the move based on his moving contracts.  We offered him a discounted rate of $4000 even. This was to much for JP he was apparently trying to play a game with us and pulls scam. Then we lowered the rate to $3500 and we were stil getting yelled at about the rates..  We agreed on $3250 cash and this guy gave a certied check. Talk about going back on every part of your deal and shifting the blame.

LEAVE YOUR STUFF BEHIND

   When JP refused to pay the extra cost for his move. We kindly offered to gladly leave all the extra volume on a pallet and leave it on our loading dock for him to come and pick up.  After all it was only 2 items according to Mr. JP Hanley.  However this was not a good solution for him and he said we can keep the  “2 additional items”  he added. We then informed him we don’t want his trash and we can bill him for a dumping fee.

   Now JP is very disgruntle and upset at this point. He is trying to pul a scam on the movers but its going backwards on him. JP Hanley and his Wife Beth both were crying that the price was to high and there is no way they had that much extra volume.   We are giving them over a $1500 discount based off the contracted rates.  Now JP exclaims he will only pay $3000 total for his bill and we are crooks trying to rip him off. In order to avoid major conflict we lowered our rate to $3500 and again this was still too high.. JP Hanley agreed to $3250 while calling me a thief.

SEPARATING THE LOAD

   Finally we get to delivery JP Hanleys items in Florida. We arrive at the home and he is not ready to pay for his delivery. he has no money on him and wanted us to unload first. As per our contracts and FMCSA law we are to be paid in full before we unload any trucks. JP Hanley had this information in writing so red flag says he was going to pull fast one in the end. Thank goodness for Federal Laws.

With this reinforced information of no payment no good JP Hanley runs off to the bank. Pissed off as ever he pays my guys and is belittling them the whole time. the crew decided to take all the items that were not on the inventory and and show them exactly what they are robbing us for.. Beth the wife seen the amount and just went inside in silence. JP exclaims we are still liars.. Check out our pictures of what he didn’t pay to move and you decide.

NO TIP – KARMA WILL COME

    We at Van With a Man are very easy going and don’t want any upset customers. JP Hanley is a special case that deserves some attention. When the move finally concluded  JP Hanley attempted to start a fist fight with one of my workers. While JP was trying to bait my workers into a fist fight by jumping on my Moving Truck and calling me a thief he also told my workers that  he hopes i pay them good because this job should tip $200 and they get nothing . My worker was more of a gentleman and didn’t stoop to JP’s Level. JP HANLEY is a lowlife scamming slime ball.  JP Karma will get you back one day.
